The University of Auckland is NZ’s largest and highest ranked University. An on-going programme of extension has been under construction from 1998 to the present day, including Student Amenities, School of Business, Faculty of Science, Fale Pasifika, the Thomas Building Research Facility, and various Student Accommodation Towers.

Surveying teams have provided initial design survey information, monitoring of adjacent structures, full-time survey set-out of structural and finished works items, and design dimension checking where buildings interface with adjacent structures.

Our survey teams were engaged by Auckland International Airport to assist with the upgrade to the main runway and adjacent taxiways and aircraft hard-stand areas, as well as the detailed planning and design for a second Northern runway.

Our survey teams have been involved in the design, setting out, and the establishment of main control networks to facilitate the implementation of these projects.

Additional services included navigational surveying and strategic navigation systems upgrades.

Auckland Airport is the largest and busiest airport in New Zealand. Commencing in 1995, a continued programme of main terminal construction followed by subsequent extensions and upgrades have required involvement of surveying teams at every stage. Roles have been varied, including set-out of all the main building’s structural, ceiling, and selected interior finished works, as well as the travelators and aircraft docking gates.

The America’s Cup village is located within the Viaduct Basin in Auckland.
The construction of the village facilities involved the dredging of the existing basin and entrance channel to accommodate the defence and challenger syndicates, the construction of the 11 team bases including the necessary lifting equipment to remove the boats from the water daily (7 of the team bases are on reclaimed land), construction of an entertainment pavilion, corporate facilities and berthing facilities.

Survey teams were engaged for the duration of the construction works in providing a full set-out service.

CLIENT: Fletcher Construction Ltd.

Appointed fulltime survey teams to support all construction works in 1994, on the second (and largest) casino to be built in NZ. Works involved excavations, piling, and set-up of all structural items from six levels below ground to the full height of the building. On-going survey works extended through all areas of the project, including fitting-out surveys for all stairs and rooms.

Engaged as principal surveyors for all setting-out and design checking surveys during the construction of Auckland’s premiere performing arts and events centre.

Whilst main construction was completed in 1989, on-going development and refurbishments have required surveys for design and additional construction works. This included roof strengthening works for the adjacent civic car park, and a major upgrade of Aotea Square. A 3D model of all external and selected interior main building surfaces was recently completed (2016)

Supply of full survey teams to provide set-out and support for the staged progress of construction works for NZ’s national broadcaster, on what is now it’s trademark headquarters on the corner of Victoria Street West.

Designed by Warren & Mahoney, the new building was intended to respond to both futuristic workspace expectations and News and Media requirements, within the context of a state-owned entity.
